Learn from David Anderson, a seasoned professional musician who toured with famous bands as a backup singer and guitarist during the 1970s-1990s. Gain invaluable insights into the music industry from someone who’s been there! - Bernard Lawson is a musician who has opened for, sung with, and toured nationally alongside artists like James Ingram and Patti LaBelle.
Plus, Dr. Gloria Dunnivan, PhD, a renowned author and expert in college access, will guide you on how to set and achieve your college and career aspirations. Dr. Dunnivan has helped thousands of young people successfully navigate the path to higher education. - Skill Development:
You’ll have the chance to learn guitar for free through the AACC website, and guitars will be provided! Whether you’re a beginner or looking to hone your skills, the Music Club offers lessons and guidance tailored to your level. - College & Career Exposure:
The club meets twice a month (the second and third Thursdays) from 7:00 to 8:00 PM via the Internet, providing a convenient way for you to connect and grow. You’ll also get an opportunity to visit local universities, where you can explore music majors and learn how to turn your passion for music into a career. - Tools for Success:
The club integrates Career Aspirations and College Access workbooks, alongside Ohio Means Jobs resources, to equip you with the tools you need to explore career options and navigate the college application process.
